The Calgary-based family builder opens in Rockwall, Texas with a level of design flexibility and craftsmanship no other DFW homebuilder currently offers
Rockwall, TX – May 2026 – Shane Homes, a Calgary-headquartered homebuilder with more than 46 years of experience and over 16,000 homes built in Calgary, has made its U.S. debut in Rockwall, Texas, bringing with it a level of structural customization, craftsmanship and customer experience not typically found in the Dallas-Fort Worth market.
The family-owned builder opened its first U.S. model home in September 2025 at Park Hills, a 144-lot community in Rockwall that sits directly adjacent to Harry Myers Park, one of the city’s most beloved recreation destinations. Shane Homes holds 72 of the available lots. The company also secured 10 lots in Gideon Grove, a second Rockwall community along North John King Boulevard. Both communities are developed by Qualico Companies of Canada, a developer with more than 60 years of experience.
Shane Homes is not simply expanding geographically. It is introducing a different standard of homebuilding to the DFW market.
“Our goal is not simply to enter the Dallas market. It is to raise what buyers can expect from a homebuilder. From craftsmanship to communication, we are delivering a level of quality and personalization that has not been widely available here,” said Dave Rickett, President, Shane Homes Dallas.
At the core of Shane Homes’ offering is its Love It or Customize It program, a structural floor plan customization process that sets the company apart from every other builder currently operating in DFW. While competitors offer design studio finish selections, Shane Homes allows buyers to personalize their floor plan before construction begins, moving walls, bathrooms, kitchens and living areas, and in some cases adjusting the overall footprint where the lot allows. All this is delivered at competitive production builder pricing.
Buyers can select from 13 floor plans ranging from approximately 2,500 to more than 4,000 square feet, with homes priced from the mid-$500,000s.
“The customized-home process should be transparent and predictable. We give buyers control over their design to fit their families’ needs and a clear timeline and direct access to the people building their home,” said Keith Kieltyka, General Manager, Operations, Shane Homes Dallas.
Elements that other DFW builders sell as upgrades come standard at Shane Homes: 2”x6” exterior wall construction, oversized garages and eight-foot solid-core interior doors on every level. The quality built into every home reflects the company’s founding belief that craftsmanship should not change based on the price a buyer pays.
That commitment has already earned recognition in the Dallas market. Shane Homes’ Rockwall model home won Best Interior Merchandising at the 2026 McSam Awards, presented by the Dallas Builders Association, and was named a finalist for Best Architectural Design and Home of the Year.
Shane Homes sets firm closing dates early in the process and delivers homes within 150 to 160 days, giving buyers reliable timelines from contract to keys. Every homeowner receives direct contact information for each member of their building team for full transparency.
The 1-2-10 warranty program covers one year for workmanship, two years for systems and 10 years for structural issues, with proactive 3-month and 12-month inspections built into the process as standard.
Park Hills sits directly adjacent to Harry Myers Park, giving residents walkable access to a dog park, swimming pool, fishing ponds, baseball fields, tennis courts, a skate park, hiking and biking trails and disc golf, and only minutes from the lake. No other DFW homebuilder can claim this adjacency.
Homes in both communities are served by Rockwall Independent School District, one of the most highly regarded school districts in the region. In 2024, WalletHub named Rockwall the Best Small City in Texas, recognizing its quality of life, safety, and community character.
Park Hills and Gideon Grove are also well positioned for buyers relocating from higher cost markets. Texas has no personal state income tax, and Rockwall carries one of the more competitive property tax rates in the DFW Metroplex. Quick access to Dallas via I-30 makes both communities practical for daily commuters.
Shane Homes evaluated markets including Austin and Nashville before identifying Dallas-Fort Worth as its U.S. entry point, drawn by the region’s population growth, diversified economy and cultural alignment with the company’s values. “Dallas has the same entrepreneurial energy and growth mindset we know from Calgary,” said Rickett, “It is a market ready for a fresh perspective on homebuilding.”
Shane Homes plans to build 300 to 350 DFW homes annually within five to seven years, with homes priced from the mid-$500,000s to the upper $800,000s. The Shane Homes model home at 310 Shadow Ridge Road, Rockwall, TX 75087, is open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 6pm, and Sunday, 12pm to 5pm. Call 469-836-1414 or visit shanehomes.com
