Rockwall, TX – May 2026 – The Rockwall Art League will welcome Dallas-based interdisciplinary artist Gaurii S Kumaar for a special four-hour workshop, Paint Dreamlike Landscapes, on Saturday, June 6, at The Center at Rockwall City Place in downtown Rockwall.

Designed for artists of all experience levels, the workshop combines painting techniques with mindfulness practices in a creative and reflective environment. Participants will explore acrylics, watercolor, pen-and-ink and mixed media while creating layered, dream-inspired landscapes rooted in personal symbolism and storytelling.

Kumaar is known for contemplative works that explore themes of identity, resilience, cultural memory and healing. Based in Dallas, her artwork has been exhibited at venues including the Amarillo Museum of Art Biennial, the Irving Arts Center, the Latino Cultural Center and Craighead Green Gallery. In 2025, she received the Dallas Museum of Art Dozier Travel Grant and was named a finalist for the Nasher Sculpture Center Artist Grant.

Dallas-based interdisciplinary artist Gaurii S Kumaar will lead the Rockwall Art League’s “Paint Dreamlike Landscapes” workshop on June 6 in downtown Rockwall.

In addition to her studio practice, Kumaar has led therapeutic art, yoga and mindfulness workshops for organizations including the Crow Museum of Asian Art and community arts initiatives connected to the National Mall in Washington, D.C.

Gaurii S Kumaar’s contemplative mixed-media works often explore themes of identity, resilience, cultural memory and healing through layered imagery and dreamlike landscapes.

The June workshop will guide participants through therapeutic art techniques, mindfulness exercises and meditation practices intended to encourage creative confidence and emotional resilience. Attendees also will learn how to build visual vocabulary through color, motifs and layered composition.

Participants in the Rockwall Art League’s June 6 workshop will draw inspiration from the expressive style and symbolic visual language featured in the work of Dallas artist Gaurii S Kumaar.

“This workshop is designed to be both creatively inspiring and personally restorative,” Kumaar said. “Participants can expect a welcoming atmosphere focused on artistic exploration, connection and self-expression.”

The workshop will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. June 6 at The Center at Rockwall City Place, 108 E. Washington St. Class size is limited to 15 participants to encourage individualized instruction and interaction.

Proceeds from the workshop will help fund the Rockwall Art League’s monthly Art Reach community engagement classes.

Registration is available at RockwallArtLeague.org/classes. Workshop fee is $75, and all supplies are provided.
