Robert (Bob) Edwards, age 91, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2020, in Rockwall, Texas. He was born April 3, 1929, in Frankfort, Indiana to Arthur and Hazel Edwards. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife (Emma) as well as his two brothers (Phil Edwards and Dick Edwards) and one sister (Pat Brisendine). His wife of 59 years, Emma Dee King Edwards was the one and only love of his life and together they raised four daughters. He has been blessed with 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Bob graduated from North Texas State University and continued his education obtaining a master’s degree from Abilene Christian University in Dallas. He retired in 1983 from Southwestern Life as vice president of personnel and accepted a position with Drake, Beam & Morin ultimately retiring in 1996. In retirement, Bob enjoyed playing golf and volunteering for many civic duties in Rockwall. He also was very active in his church First United Methodist of Rockwall serving as a trustee. Bob was the ultimate gentleman to anyone he met or knew with always a firm handshake and encouraging words to say. He lived his life with grace, dignity, his family mourns their loss, and his generosity and love will always be felt.

Bob is survived by his daughters: Brenna Yanowski and husband Randy, Barbara Seed and husband Danny, Nancy Opitz and husband Danny, Janice Hollister and husband Kyle. Grandchildren: Kristin Jayne and husband Yvan, Matthew Yanowski and wife Sarah, Robbie Yanowski and wife Hannah, Blake Seed and wife Amber, Stefanie Siddique and husband Aaron, Brad Seed and wife Caryn, Bobby Malone and Kevin Malone, Dana Opitz and Marc Opitz, Brittney Goldman and husband Britt, Lance Hollister and wife Victoria; and great-grandchildren: Sienna and Preston Jayne, Jhett and Lakyn Yanowski, Briar Yanowski, Brock and Brooke Seed, Kynleigh Coward, Emma and Olivia Siddique, Jack and Cooper Seed, Blakely, Breckyn, and Hawkins Goldman, and Summer Hollister.

A special thank you to all his friends and neighbors who continuously came to visit Bob. The family would like to thank Brookdale Summer Ridge and Brookdale Hospice for their support and care. A private graveside service will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Park, with Rev. Joe Poole officiating. Guests are welcome to attend a viewing on Friday, June 12, from 9:00 to 10:00 am. Face masks will be required for all people entering the building.
