James Donald ”Don” Stark

James Donald ”Don” Stark, age 42, and a resident of Richardson, TX, passed away on April 24, 2020. He was born in Beaumont, TX, on October 24, 1977. He spent his childhood in Nederland, TX before moving to Greenwell Springs, LA in his teens.

James attended Scottlandville Magnet High School in Baton Rouge, LA, where he played the saxophone and bassoon in the high school concert band and played varsity soccer. He also climbed to the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America.

He attended LSU Baton Rouge, receiving a BS in Zoology, and then attended LSU Shreveport receiving a BS in Physician Assistant Studies in 2006. He then completed his Masters of Physician Assistant Studies. Most recently he was employed by Texas Health Plano in the Trauma ER unit and had worked there previously for many years in the ICU Unit. He joined the Louisiana Army National Guard while still in college and served as a Combat Medic.

His hobbies included reading, science, history, and a love of music. He loved teaching new things to his daughter Audrey especially if it was science or history. They also loved going to concerts, art installations, and museums together.

He is survived by his daughter Audrey Stark of Richardson, TX; mother Judith Stark of Wylie, TX; sister Carol Stark Gorman of Wylie, TX; grandmother Geraldine Lacey of Port Neches, TX; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members. He is preceded in death by his father James D. Stark Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, June 26, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home in Rockwall, Texas.
