Col. John Kinzie Murtaugh, age 87, and long-time resident of Rockwall, TX, passed away on May 24, 2020. He was born November 1, 1932, in Bremen, IN, to John Herbert Murtaugh and Lori Murtaugh. John joined the Air Force in 1953 and served in the Vietnam War. After retiring from the Air Force, he began working in real estate. John loved traveling around the world with his wife, Mary. He also had a passion for rescuing Giant Schnauzers and adopted many over the years. John will be deeply missed by everyone who loved him.
John is survived by his loving wife: Mary Sheila Murtaugh of Rockwall, TX; son: John S. Murtaugh and wife Holly of Trophy Club, TX; daughter: Susan Mary Murtaugh; grandson: John Philip Murtaugh and wife Ann Marie of Midland, TX; and granddaughter: Julia Kinzie Murtaugh of Trophy Club, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents.
