The City of Fate has completed a video that encapsulates the history of Fate’s past. Plans are set for Friday, April 17 at 6 PM to premiere the video on its Facebook page (www.facebook.com/CityOfFate). As a way of bringing the community together, part of the #FateStrong movement, Fate is encouraging watchers to call in or preorder some take out from open local businesses such as The Smokin’ Donut, Along Came Tamale, Cafe Chamoy, and Mona Lisa Pizza. This is a great way for families to come together, sit back, and learn about how our small town was formed!

The video, The Fate Girls: A History of Fate Texas, stars Jo Leonard, Katherine Stevener, and Billie Stevenson, three of the six original “Fate Girls.” The girls were born in the 1920s and experienced life in Fate through some of the biggest events of American history. They now tell of the historic past for future generations. The topics include the origin of the city name and the original location, the Zollner “Hobo Ranch,” railroad, cotton farming, the 1933 tornado, Church history, the Fate School District, World War II rations, modernization, and names of influential residents.

After the premiere, the video, as well as many more details of the City’s past, will be posted on the City website, www.CityofFate.com/History.
