Patrick Trowbridge, 52, was taken into custody today on three charges of possession of child pornography. His bond was set at $20,000 per charge.
Trowbridge holds place 6 on the Rockwall City Council and was elected in 2018.
On April 13, the Center for Missing and Exploited Children set a tip to the Rockwall Police regarding multiple videos of possible child pornography being sent from an IP address in Rockwall. Detectives investigated and found probable cause to believe that videos had been sent via the KIK app from the suspect’s IP address. They confirmed that the IP address was located at a house in the 600 block of Parks Avenue in Rockwall; the IP address was in the name of a resident at that location.
On April 23, detectives obtained and executed a search warrant for the location and additional evidence of the offense of Possession or Promotion of Child Pornography, a felony offense. During the search, detectives discovered images of child pornography on a smart phone belonging to and in possession of the suspect. Patrick Allen Trowbridge was arrested and taken to the Rockwall County Jail and charged with Possession or Promotion of Child Pornography, which is a third degree felony.
His seat was up for reelection for the 2020 election. Trowbridge was running unopposed as no other applications were taken in. The Rockwall Times announced in January that he had filed for reelection.
Rockwall PD has stated that they do not believe any of the victims were in Rockwall.
