William Timothy Rushing passed away on June 4, 2020, at the age of 62. He was born on October 10, 1957, in Mitchell, South Dakota, to Rayburn Lewis Rushing and Wilene Dawson Rushing.

Tim grew up in Plano, Texas, and played football for the Plano Wildcats. He graduated from Plano Senior High School in 1976. He was an auto upholsterer for many years and then made a career change in 2002, and became a land surveyor, a job he dearly loved. He even surveyed in his sleep! Tim married his wife, Susan Stephens Rushing on April 27, 1979. Together, they loved going to the beach with friends. His laugh was bigger than life and you always knew when he was in the room. He was stubborn beyond words and loved his family fiercely. Tim was loving, warm, giving, and genuine with an incredible sense of humor. He loved music of any kind and owned and played several different instruments. Playing guitar with his sons and with his brothers, and nieces and nephews at Christmas, were times he held dear. His love of music translated into him playing country music professionally with many bands throughout his life; including with his brothers Joe and Gene. As a member of Grace Baptist Church, Tim played guitar during the worship service.

Tim is survived by his wife of 41 wonderful years: Susan Stephens Rushing, of Garland, TX; sons: William Scott Rushing, wife Cassie, and daughter Amelia Lin of Carrollton, TX, and Stephen Timothy Rushing of Garland, TX; mother: Wilene Rushing of Plano, TX; and siblings: Gail Rushing Brigham and husband Lane of Thibodeaux, LA, Gene Rushing and wife Jane of Plano, TX, and Joe Rushing and wife Donna of Rowlett, TX. He was preceded in death by his father: Rayburn Rushing and his grandmothers, May Rushing and Jesse Dawson.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 10, 2020, at Ridgeview Church, 1362 FM 522, Rockwall, TX, 75087. A Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to service at 10:00 AM at the church.
