Dorothy D. (Dinny) Stein-Adelman, age 97, of Addison, TX, passed away on May 17, 2020. She was born November 15, 1922, in Canton, OH, to Maurice Albert Stein and Ida Pauline Stein. Dorothy was a character. She was caring, funny, feisty, and quick-witted. She spoke her truth and always meant well. Dorothy loved to sing and dance. She was a terrible cook. Her grandchildren knew her as their loving “Bubbie” and to her nieces and nephews she was known as “Aunt Dinny”. Her presence will be deeply missed.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters: Lynne Ferrell and husband Walter Canterbury, and Janet Cook and husband Russell; grandchildren: Jennifer McCarroll and husband Cary, Adrienne McCutchin and husband Alex, Katherine Mayley, Rick Ferrell, Lauren Westerfield, and Brett Cook; great-grandchildren: Ashley, Brooke, Braeden, Carleigh, Breanna, Tyler, and Chris; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sanford Adelman; sisters Mildred Shapiro, and Ruth Levin; brothers Edward Stein and Donald Stein; great-grandson: Nicholas; and her parents.
A private service will be held at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location.
