Bringing Healing, Stillness, and Strength to Rowlett and Beyond

After three decades in the physically demanding construction industry, Michael Zollicoffer, the founder of Third Eye Mind Yoga, Meditation & Sound Therapy knew something had to change. Years of wear and tear had taken a toll on his body—and his spirit. That search for healing eventually led him to a yoga class in 2018. What began as a personal health journey quickly evolved into something much more: a calling to help others reconnect with their bodies, their breath, and their inner peace.
Fast forward to 2024, and Third Eye Mind officially opened its doors in Rowlett, offering small-group yoga classes and immersive sound therapy sessions with serene views of Lake Ray Hubbard. The studio now serves the communities of Rowlett, Sachse, Rockwall, and surrounding areas—inviting students to slow down, reset, and grow.
“I believe everyone deserves a safe space to move, breathe, and grow without judgment or expectation,” the founder shared. “Yoga gave me that—and now, I want to share it with others.”
From Construction to Connection

Years of hard labor and high-stress environments left the founder dealing with chronic pain, sciatica, and burnout. When traditional treatments fell short, he turned to yoga. That first class was physically challenging—but the emotional and energetic shift was undeniable. He kept returning to the mat. By 2022, after attending his first sound bath and completing multiple instructor certifications, he was teaching yoga throughout North Texas.
The idea for a studio came in 2023, and when a lakefront space became available in Rowlett, everything aligned. The vision for Third Eye Mind was born—a place where mindfulness, self-love, and holistic healing take center stage.
A Studio Rooted in Intention

The name Third Eye Mind is rooted in yogic philosophy. The “third eye” represents intuition and insight—what the founder calls the seat of inspiration. The mind, he explains, is the mechanism that can either amplify that inner wisdom or cloud it with distraction. The studio’s mission is to help students realign and tune in to their higher selves.
“Our philosophy is simple: when we do the work to heal ourselves, we create ripples that benefit our families, neighborhoods, and communities.”
What to Expect at Third Eye Mind

Unlike large gyms or traditional studios, Third Eye Mind offers intimate sessions with a maximum of six students per class, allowing for personalized instruction and support. The studio is free of mirrors to encourage inward focus, not external comparison. Sessions range from beginner yoga and slow flow to more advanced power flows. Every class incorporates intentional breathwork and ends with guided relaxation.
Sound therapy is a cornerstone of the experience. Using instruments like crystal singing bowls, rain sticks, chimes, and ocean drums, these sessions promote healing through vibration. Special full moon and sunset sessions take place on the lakeside patio, combining movement and meditation with rituals like journaling, releasing intentions into the fire pit, and soaking in the healing power of sound.
A Business Fueled by Community and Resilience
Opening the studio wasn’t easy. From navigating permits and weathering literal storms (including one on the day of the April 2024 eclipse) to supporting family health challenges, the journey has been filled with obstacles. But each challenge, the founder says, reinforced the importance of patience, resilience, and staying true to the dream.
“You have to be your biggest cheerleader. Keep moving forward—even if it’s just a little at a time.”
