Karen Elizabeth (Ross) Brown, age 76, of Rockwall, TX, passed away April 17, 2022, after a brief battle with cancer. Karen was born August 19, 1945, in Dayton, OH, to Wayne and Marguerite (Lewis) Ross, and over the years called many places home, including Huntsville, AL, New Berlin, WI, and Gulf Shores, AL. She even lived in China for two years and India for three years, making lifelong friends in those expat communities. She was an avid traveler who logged trips to Africa, New Zealand, the Caribbean, and many European destinations. Karen was also heavily involved in the PEO Organization, a women’s group that provides educational opportunities for women. When she wasn’t traveling, volunteering with PEO, or spending time with her family, Karen loved to create custom greeting cards for her loved ones. Karen is survived by Charlie, her loving husband of 56 years, as well as her children, Michael Brown and his wife, Akiko, and Stephanie DeClue and her husband Gene. Karen will also be missed by her grandchildren, Ailey Swartz, Ben Brown, Lucas Brown, Katherine DeClue, Julia DeClue, and Samantha DeClue. Karen is also survived by her three sisters, Erla Wilson, Kay Johnston, and Dee Hastler. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Marguerite Ross.
