Nancy Jones, age 71, and long-time resident of Rockwall, TX, passed away on March 6, 2022. She was born on August 22, 1950, in Dallas, TX, to William Lee Nelson and Louise Carmical Nelson. Nancy graduated from WW Samuel High School and attended El Centro College in Dallas. After college, she worked for Southwestern Life Insurance Co. She married Terry Jones in 1968 and they had one son Kendall Ryan in 1972. Nancy and her husband owned their own business “Terry Jones Services” and they both retired in 2011. After retiring, Nancy worked for Rockwall Independent School District. She worked with the special needs children and drove a school bus. She volunteered for the Special Olympics Field Day trips and loved working with the children at the events. She was also the creative inspiration behind “Jazz Me Up”, a company she created. Often called the Arts and Craft Queen, she loved to go to First Monday at Canton and other flea markets to get her material for her creations. Glitter, rhinestones, and bows were her specialty. This was a labor of love for Nancy. She will be deeply missed.

For her friends and family who searched high and low for her favorite beverage, “Big Red”, we will all remember her when we see a bottle or can. Here’s a toast to you, Nancy, you are Big Red.

Nancy is survived by her loving husband, Terry Jones, son, Kendall Jones, sister Linda Nelson, grandchildren Hensley and Nash Jones, sister-in-law Ellen Jones (Rickey), sister-in-law Chris Sickler (Lee), nieces Brandi Jones (Mark), Andy Hathcock (Bryan), Mandi Jones, Ashley Northern (Taylor) and a host of cousins, extended family and friends. Nancy was preceded in death by her brother, Mike Nelson and her parents, Bill and Louise Nelson.
