Milton “Marty” LaVerne Martinson, age 87, of Royse City, TX, passed away on March 20, 2022. He was born February 11, 1935, in Dixon County, NE, to Harold and Burnis (Bass) Martinson. He graduated from Emerson High School. Marty served in the US Air Force for four years. He worked for Braniff International Airways for 21 years, then E-Systems, Raytheon, and L3 Systems in Greenville, TX. He was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Rockwall, TX. In his free time, he enjoyed reading, especially history, he also loved to read the newspaper, and repairing things around the house. He loved fixing up old houses and cars. Marty will be deeply missed.
Marty married Charlene Rhoades on May 15, 1965, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Dallas, TX. They have three children: Donna (Charles) Troxel of Alpine, TX, Janet (Tim) Morris of Columbia, MO, David (Patricia) Martinson of Dallas, TX.
Marty is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren: Ellisa Morris, and Mikaela (Jacob) Joos; sister: Sheryl (Michael) Boyle, Colleen (Paul) Boyle; brothers: Lonny, and Barry (Linda) Martinson and sister-in-law: Barbara Martinson. He was preceded in death by his parents, baby sister: Delva; brothers: Lloyd, and Larry; sisters-in-law: Karen, and AnnaMarie; and many beloved family friends.
A memorial service will take place 11:00am Saturday, March 26, 2022 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 3003 Horizon Rd, Rockwall, TX 75032. A private interment will take place a Rest Haven Memorial in Rockwall, TX.
