Wilma Moore Warren was born in Franklin County, Texas on September 10, 1931. She passed away in her home at the age of 90 on February 25, 2022.

Both her mother and father’s families have lived in the area since the 1800s. She retired after a 37-year career with Southwestern Bell Telephone. Not being one for the retired lifestyle and enjoying the company of her co-workers who she considered friends, she went back to work for Lone Star Credit Union for another 20 years before retiring once again.

Wilma loved to travel and went on many exciting trips with dear friends. She enjoyed studying history and genealogy. She encouraged her children and grandchildren to pursue higher education. Wilma was also a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Rockwall and the Martha Sunday School Class.

Wilma was preceded in death by her husband of more than 70 years, Lewis Dwayne Warren. Also preceding her in death were her mother and father, brothers Cecil and Robbie Moore and sister Francis Laverne Coker. She is survived by her daughter Carol Blair and husband Bert, son Jeff Warren and wife Linda, and son Blake Warren and husband Kent Giles, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Special thanks to both Wilma and Dwayne’s caregivers, Ernest Kimmons, Marty Polk and Cleadie Green.

Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Resthaven Funeral Home in Rockwall, Texas.
