Shannon Beth Jones Byrd, age 59, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. She was born on January 18, 1963, in Dallas, Texas to Vernadene and Elton Jones. She graduated from Skyline High School in 1980 and was a member of the Silhouettes drill team. Shannon was a licensed hairstylist, known to say, “Hair is my Passion.” She was creative and artistic. Shannon was a member of Lake Pointe Church. She was a loving daughter, wife, mother, Mimi, sister, and aunt. She loved family and was a friend to many. Her presence will be deeply missed.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Vernadene Trawick Jones; her “Nana,” Charlene Douglas Trawick; and her father-in-law, Billy P. Byrd. She is survived by her loving husband of 10 years, Kyle Byrd; son, Aiden Jones Byrd; stepchildren, Tiffany Hewlett and husband Nathan, Justin Byrd and wife Caitlin, Andrew Byrd and wife Anastasia, and Kalyn Byrd. She is also survived by her mother-in-law, Lois Byrd; grandchildren, Ryleigh and Kingston Hewlett; brother, Chuck Jones and wife Amy; and nephew, James Gregory Jones. And lastly, Dad and Linda.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, February 10, 2022, at The Bridge at Lake Pointe Church, Rockwall, Texas. Interment will follow in Wheatland Cemetery, Dallas, Texas. A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday, February 9, 2022, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall location.
