William Clyde Moore, Jr., 75, of Rockwall, Texas, passed from this life on January 6, 2022. William was born on March 30, 1946, to William Clyde Moore, Sr. and Joicey Augusta (Abbott) Moore, in Mobile, Alabama.

He is survived by his son: Brett Allen Moore and wife Michelle; grandsons: Jackson Ross Moore and wife Stephanie, Cody Lane Moore, Brian Austin Moore, and Nicholas Allen Moore; brothers: Alden “Peanut” Moore and wife Billie Sue, Kevin O’Niell Moore; sister: Mary Frances Medders and husband David; long-time friend, Rusty Simpson; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who will all miss him dearly. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Anita (Lott) Moore; and parents, Clyde and Joicey Moore.

Bill grew up in Lake Jackson, Texas and graduated from Brazosport High school in Freeport. He was active in the band and loved sports of all kind. His first love was always fishing. He spent his entire life fishing!

He married his high school sweetheart, Anita Lott, on September 2, 1966, while attending Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. After graduation, he went to work for NL Baroid in south Louisiana and had an AMAZING career in the Oil and Gas industry. That industry allowed him to see the world.

He was drafted into the United States Army on December 5, 1968, and served his country in the 11th Armored Calvary BlackHorse regiment. He spent from June 1969 – July 1970 in Vietnam defending our great nation. He returned home and resumed his career with Baroid, and he and Anita had their only child, Brett, in October of 1971.

In 1984 they moved to Rockwall, Texas, and would remain residents of Rockwall for 38 years. He loved Rockwall primarily because he could walk out his door and see the lake from his driveway. Water and fishing were always a vital part of Bill’s life, he loved to see the sun bounce off the water and the way the sky would light up as the sunset on the water.

A funeral service is to be held on Tuesday, January 11, 2022, beginning at 1:00 PM in Reflections Chapel at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall location, with Pastor John Schulz officiating.
