Jerry “Tex” Miller, age 78, of Josephine, TX, passed away on December 13, 2021. He was born July 28, 1943, in Shaw, MS, to John Miller and Adeline (Smith) Miller. Tex married his wife, Rachel at the old Rockwall Courthouse on December 18, 1965. He and Rachel were very close and did almost everything together. They enjoyed shopping and going out to eat. Tex loved to play the guitar, especially Bluegrass and country music. He also enjoyed Nascar, building race cars, and dirt track racing. He loved his family dearly. His presence will be deeply missed.

Tex is survived by his loving wife of 56 years: Rachel Miller of Josephine, TX; children: Vernie Dixon of Royse City, TX, Sharrol Miller of Royse City, TX, Tex Miller and wife Carrie of Temple, TX, and Rachael Holder and husband Reese of Josephine, TX; grandchildren: Michael Dixon, Amanda Remmers, Bradley Haydicky, Felicia Miller, Joseph Beach, Matthew Miller, Kayleah Miller, Colby Miller, and Aaron Miller; great-grandchildren: Caleb Holder, Colt Holder, Aadon Rawlins, Brayden Beach, Ava Beach, Noah Beach, Ramey Beach, Jaiden Dixon, David Dixon, and Wesley Walker; brother: Donald Miller; sister: Rosie Pruitt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers: Fred, Charlie, Bud, and Gene Miller; sister: Lucille Miller; and his parents.

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 3:00 to 5:00pm Thursday, December 16, 2021, at The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location.
