Jesus Alberto Ocampo age 69 of Rowlett, Texas left this world in peace Thursday, November 11, 2021 “Angel Day” at home after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

Born in Bogota, Colombia on April 8th, 1952, he was the son of the late Carlos Julio and late Francisca Castillo Ocampo.

Alberto immigrated to the United States in December 1979 in search of the “American Dream” and married his wife Amparo Ocampo in April 1980.

He is survived by his wife, Amparo Ocampo and were happily married for 41 years. He is also survived by his sons, Luke and his wife Lina, Thomas and his wife Christina, and daughter, Michelle and her husband Ronald Lopez. Alberto was also a loving grandfather to Camilla Ocampo. He will be greatly missed by his brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, family, and friends but we rejoice that he is in heaven cancer free at the Lord’s side.

Alberto retired after working many years at the City of Garland and continued to work as a handyman since he enjoyed working. It brought him much joy by coming to the rescue to help repair issues and would often tell his wife how he was able to help the community.

His hobbies were reading, soccer, gardening, fishing, cooking, playing the guitar, running, collecting coins, visiting the beach and long distance bike riding around White Rock Lake.
