William Wallace “Wally” Graves

William Wallace “Wally” Graves, age 91, of Rockwall, TX, passed away on October 23, 2021. He was born January 4, 1930, in Reagan, TX to William Henry and Verna Mildred Graves.

Wally was a proud graduate of Texas A&M University. He received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering in 1952. After graduation, he entered the US Army Signal Corps where he served in Korea as a First Lieutenant. He worked in various engineering and sales positions for LTV companies before becoming President of Saturn Electronics Corporation. In 1976, he changed careers and received a Master of Education from Texas A&M (Commerce). He spent the next 20 years teaching high school advanced math and computer science. Nothing made him happier than to see his former students and hear about their lives and careers. Wally was a Master Mason and member of Empire Masonic Lodge #586 in Nevada, TX.

Wally is survived by daughter: Karen Graves Hulett and husband Gregory; grandchildren: Ryan Mitchell (wife Michelle), Holly Mitchell Coit, Shelby Hulett (Drew Lane), Elisha Lovell (husband Durl), William Massey (wife Tessa), Sheri Swartzendruber, and Lucas Massey; great­grandchildren: Stacy Hill (Alex Brown), Luke Mitchell, Cole Mitchell, Ben Mitchell, Lila Mitchell, Caroline Coit, Natalie Coit, Alex Lovell, Althea Lovell, Rachelle Lovell, Abbey Massey, Brad Massey, Casey Massey, and Steven Swartzendruber; great-great-grandchildren: Caleb Hill and Carson Hill; brother: Harold Graves; sisters: Carol Davis and Teresa Wright. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Joyce Graves; daughter: Vicki Joyce Graves; sisters: Ruth Hall, Gracie Anderson, Betty Capps; and his parents.

Heartfelt thanks to the staff at Rock Ridge Assisted Living & Memory Care and Centric Hospice for their thoughtful and loving care to Wally and Joyce Graves. There are no words to describe how grateful we are for the care you provided during their final days.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Wally is to be held on Friday, October 29, 2021, at 1:00 PM, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Location.
