Scott Winsor McFadden was born to James and Nano McFadden on July 7, 1951 at Florence Nightingale Hospital in Dallas, Texas. He passed on Friday, October 8, 2021, at 9:50am after a long and courageous battle with cancer in his home with family holding his hands. Scott attended Dallas schools and graduated from Bryan Adams in 1970. He attended both UNT and SMU and would like it to be known that he truly hated Spanish classes. In 1977, he became one of Dallas County’s finest and joined the Sherriff’s Department. Over 36 years he served as a jailer, bailiff, weight team or on patrol. It is very safe to say the Sherriff’s Department was never the same after he retired.

In 1979, Scott met Denise. He always blamed his sister, Robin, for that. They married in ’81 and Scott became a daddy, first to Amber in ’85 and then 2 years later to James. The family has always enjoyed just being together, whether it be traveling, a family barbeque, checking out Choctaw, or a Sunday swim. Most recently, Scott was able to celebrate 40 years of marriage in May as well as a huge 70th birthday celebration in July. It was during one of these events several years back that Scott coined our family mantra, “Making Memories”.

Scott is survived by his wife: Denise; daughter: Amber; son: James and wife Melissa; granddaughter: Evie; sister: Robin and husband Doug; niece: Chelsea; nephew: Sidney; as well as many friends and family. He is preceded in death by his parents: James and Nano McFadden.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday, October 15, 2021, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location. Visitation for family and friends will be held prior to services beginning at 12:00pm at the funeral home. Interment to follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
