Ricky Edward Ferrell, 61, of Rockwall, Texas, passed from this life on October 3, 2021. Ricky was born in Kaufman, Texas, on August 31, 1960, to Roy Edward Ferrell and Dorothy Mary Etta (Smith) Ferrell. He was a member of the Generations Church of Royse City, Texas, at Sabine Creek Ranch.

Ricky had an infectious smile that would light up the room. Those who knew him, knew Ricky was a man who was never idle. He was always working on several projects at once and never hesitated to set them aside to assist those who needed it. He was a mentor and friend to countless others, and a dad to the fatherless. Ricky was a fishing enthusiast, but his real passion was sharing his faith with others, and loving his family.

Ricky is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Lailia Denise (Freeman) Ferrell; daughters: Angi Ferrell Powers and Jason, Christi Ferrell and Emmanuel; grandchildren: Makaila Powers and fiancée Bret Palmer, Kaden Powers, Madelynn Ferrell, Brailynn Powers, Matteo Ferrell-Gonzalez, Meikko Ferrell-Gonzalez, Ethan Chapman, Blake Massey; great-granddaughter: Khalessi Powers; siblings: Roy Wayne Ferrell and Kay, Katheryn Ferrell, Cindy Duck and Andy, Becky Ferrell and Danny; four-legged best friend: Bella. Ricky is preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Dorothy Ferrell; and four-legged best friend, Billy Ray.

A funeral service is to be held on Monday, October 11, 2021, beginning at 11:00 AM, at Generations Church of Royse City – 576 Sabine Creek Rd., Royse City, Texas 75189 – with Pastor Andy Jacobs and Pastor John Lea officiating. Burial will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Park beginning at 3:00 PM, in Rockwall, Texas. The family will receive friends and loved ones the evening prior, Sunday, October 10, 2021, from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall location, in Reflections Chapel.
