Martha “Jo” Splawn (nee Moody) passed into the arms of her Savior on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at 2:30 am at the age of 82. Jo was a long-time resident of Rockwall. She was born on January 4, 1939, in Pittsburg, Texas to the late Huey Melton and Martha Faye Moody (nee Lampley).

Jo was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Rockwall where she loved being part of The Fellowship Class. She was a member of The Shores Welcome Committee, Reviews, Reviews Book Club, and was President of Friends of the Library where her volunteerism was rewarded by twice receiving the Hartman Award. She had a servant’s heart, was a true Proverbs 31 woman, and was an extraordinary wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Jo is survived by her husband of 62 years, Jim, and her daughters, Leslie (Curtis) Knapp and Leigh Ann (Paul) Strahan, four grandchildren, Anna (Tanner) Deaton (nee Strahan), Andrew Knapp, Katherine Strahan, and Gabriel Knapp, many cousins, and extended family.

Expression of sympathy may take the form of donations to First United Methodist Church of Rockwall, 1200 E. Yellow Jacket Lane Rockwall, Texas 75087.

Her celebration of life will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, October 11, 2021, at Rest Haven Funeral Home in Rockwall, and will be officiated by her son-in-law, Dr. Paul Strahan. Visitation is immediately prior and begins at 12 noon.
