Helen “Meemaw” Lucille Russell, age 74, long-time resident of Rockwall, TX, passed away September 28, 2021. She was born October 22, 1946, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Fred William Heegmann and Lucille (Lute) Heegmann. Helen graduated high school in Pennsylvania, and soon after her family moved to Arizona, where she met her husband, Charles. They were married in Dallas, TX, on April 20, 1968. Helen was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rockwall. She enjoyed volunteering at Sharon Shannon Elementary School, playing Bunco with friends, and crocheting. Her family was very important to her and she loved spending time with them. She will be deeply missed.
Helen is survived by her sons: Carl Russell and wife Wendy, and Curtis Russell and wife Kim; grandchildren: Emily Bybee and husband Parker, Courtney Jeffcoat and husband Dillon, Mackenzie Evans, Cobey Russell and wife Taryn, Carson Russell, Christian Russell, and Colin Russell; great-grandchildren: Elizabeth, Ryleigh, Hailey, Adaline, Reagan, Drew and Noah; sister: Martha Jane Sherbock; her beloved dog: Cocoa; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles M. Russell, Sr.; and by her parents
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at First United Methodist Church, 1200 E Yellow Jacket Ln, Rockwall, TX 75087. A gathering of family and friends will take place prior to the service beginning at 12:00pm.
