Stevany Nariya Myrick, 20, of Royse City, TX, passed from this life July 29, 2021. Stevany was born December 9, 2000, in Dallas, TX, to the late Steven Allen McPherson, Jr. and Latasha Smith.
She accepted Christ as her personal Savior at the early age of 8 years old. She was a member of Sweet Home Missionary Baptist Church in Garland, TX, under the leadership of Pastor D.L. Wilson. She sang in the youth choir and was on the youth praise dance team until she couldn’t anymore. She was diagnosed at the age of 9 with SCA-3 but despite her illness, she always smiled, laughed, danced, and sang as loud as she could. If you truly knew Stev, she was VERY fashionable! Stevany had a heart of gold and would give you her last. She always looked out for others and made sure they were okay, no matter what. Her biggest accomplishment was graduating from Royse City High School with her class in 2019.
Left to cherish Stevany’s memory are her parents: Rashad and Latasha Smith; siblings: Charisma Smith, Mahogany McPherson, Deja McPherson and Zarijya McPherson; grandparents: Jerome and Rochelle Myrick, and Robert and Vernon Smith; uncle: Jerome Myrick, Jr; aunts: Janelle (Bayon) Levier and Ramell (Damon) Grant; first cousins: Daejiona Hayes, Jatavia Hayes, Devon Hayes and Roya Grant; godmother: Lakiesha Bundred; godbrother: Ayden Tyler; best friends: Savannah Trouy and Amanda Holt; and a host of other special friends and loved ones who will miss her dearly. She was preceded in death by her father: Steven McPherson, Jr.; grandparents: Steven Sr. and Andrea McPherson; and great-grandparents: Lucinda Myrick and Barbara Robinson.
A celebration of Stevany’s life will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Location with Pastor D.L. Wilson officiating. Following the service, all are invited to a reception at The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home.
