On Thursday, June 25th at 1:40 PM, God called home his beloved child, Eric Travis Schilling. A devout Catholic, Travis was a Baylor University graduate who had recently completed coursework at Divine Mercy University to obtain a Master’s Degree in counseling. He worked at Baylor’s St. Peter’s Catholic Student Center as the Development Director from 2013-2015 and served two years with the National Development Team at FOCUS (Fellowship of Catholic University Students). While earning his degrees, he also worked as a special education teacher and caregiver who was involved with Opus Dei in Dallas. He was 29 years old.

Travis was especially devoted to the Virgin Mary and the Holy Souls in Purgatory, passing away one day prior to his favorite saint’s Feast Day, Saint Josemaria Escriva. Like the saints, Travis lived to love and serve the Lord. He sought to help those who were suffering and felt great responsibility to take care of his family. Travis was always smiling and happy, never taking himself too seriously. Goofy, hilarious and kind beyond measure, Travis enriched the lives of those he knew and made the world a better place. Our hearts ache at his passing but we will celebrate his life forever as we remember his legacy of love, friendship, selflessness, humor and devotion to the things that really matter.

Travis is survived by his father, Clyde Schilling, mother, Paula Gregg, brother, Austin Schilling and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, services for Travis are private. The Rosary will be live streamed. Link and password should be obtained from the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Catholic Charities Dallas www.ccdallas.org
