Dr. Thomas Roy Morrill

Dr. Thomas Roy Morrill, D.O., passed away on July 8, 2020. Dr. Morrill was 71 and a long-time resident of Rowlett, TX. He was born on January 28, 1949, in Beverly, MA. to Leroy (Bud) Morrill and Dorothy (Dot) Morrill. Dr. Morrill served his country in the United States Airforce as a Captain, navigating B-52’s in the Vietnam War. Dr. Morrill received his Bachelor’s in Science at Davidson College in North Carolina, his Masters of Psychology at Chapman College in California, and his Doctorate at the University of North Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Morrill was a family physician in the Garland/Mesquite area for over 30 years while also delivering over 2,000 babies in that time. Thomas loved to read, play tennis, and he was a master bridge player. Dr. Morrill married his wife, Dana, in Acapulco, Mexico in 1999. His presence will be deeply missed by everyone who loved him.

Dr. Morrill is survived by his loving children: Meredith Wilson Ditchen/Oakley of Marietta, GA, Brent Morrill of Mansfield, TX, Ashley Celedonia and husband Robert of Grapevine, TX, Blayne Morrill/Bodiford of Mansfield, TX, Nathanael Gold of Lajitas TX, and Lacie Morrill of Rowlett TX. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Edward Stewart, IV and wife Shayla, Avery Bodiford, Madison Morrill, Braden Cope, and Arden Cope, as well as many other friends and family. Dr. Morrill’s gentle soul and beautiful kindness will be truly missed by all those whose lives he’s touched.

An internment at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery will be held at a later date for family and close friends.
