Sally (Evans) Mitchell, age 84, and lifetime resident of Forney, Texas, passed away on June 18, 2020. She was born July 14, 1935, in Dallas, Texas, to Buster McGlon and Easter (Neely) McGlon. Sally was a member of First Baptist Church in Forney.

Sally graduated from Forney High School in 1952 and married Harold L. Evans. She moved to San Francisco, California, with him as he went into the military. When they returned, she worked 2 jobs to help him make his way through college, supporting him in every facet, as she went on to do for her family over the next several decades of her life. Her strength was unmatched, as was her love and devotion to her children, and her grandchildren. For over 30 years, she was a vital member of the Harold L. Evans Consulting and Engineering firm, and a key component in building Rockwall. She never met a stranger, and she saw the good in everyone. Over the years, she was active in Bridge clubs all over.

She went to her high school reunion there she laid eyes on JC. He had been her high-school sweetheart. In her words, the love of her life. They were together from 1991 on, eventually getting married. Upon reuniting, they took many fishing trips together. She and JC traveled the world, soaking up as much time with one another as they could.

Sally had a flair for life that could not be toned down. Refined, and kind, she glued the family together. Being the matriarch was hard work, but with her heart, she was happy to do it. She will be dearly, dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Sally is survived by her loving husband: James Coleman Mitchell; grandchildren: Josh and Tiffany Richmond, and Tiffanie and James Anderson; great-grandchildren: Rylee Anderson, Madeline Anderson, Hannah Richmond, and Tripp Richmond; niece: Jeanette Spillman; and great-niece: Terri Watkins. She was preceded in death by her sons: Scott Wesley Evans, and Harold Craig Evans; daughter: Suzanne Richmond; and first husband: Harold LeRoy Evans.

A celebration of Sally’s life will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location, officiated by Brother Jerry Griffin. A gathering of family and friends will take prior to the service beginning at 1:00 pm.
