James “Jim” Albert Booth, age 80 of Rowlett, TX, passed away June 21, 2020. He was born March 16, 1940, in Detroit, MI, to James E. and Mable (Cornwell) Booth. Jim served his country in the U.S. Marines. He was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Rockwall and is remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and uncle.

A true engineer at heart, Jim spent the last 40 years at Resistol Hats as a Manufacturing Engineer. No matter what the item may be, either at home or work, he always had an idea or plan to modify and improve upon it. Jim always lived a very active life, which included his passion for tennis, mountain biking, golfing, and especially camping and archery. But even greater was his all-encompassing love of nature and the outdoors. As one of his close friends said, “Mother Nature will miss one of her greatest fans.” Above all, Jim was first and foremost a dedicated family man, always putting their needs before his own. He was a humble and selfless giver, lifting everyone up with his clever and often silly sense of humor.

Jim is survived by his wife of 55 years: Pat Booth of Rowlett, TX; daughters: Laurie and Eric McNeil of Chapel Hill, NC, and Amy and Chris Crow of Flower Mound, TX; siblings: George and Joan Booth, and Don and Marji Booth all of Michigan, Debbie and Alan Kawakami of Sierra Vista, AZ; grandchildren: Colin, Trevor and Logan McNeil. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am Friday, June 26, 2020, at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Rockwall with Fr. Mark Garrett officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery/Mausoleum.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to T. Boone Pickens Hospice and Palliative Care Center, 12477 Merit Drive, Dallas TX 75251 (https://www.faithpreshospice.org/donate) or Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Parish in care of St. Vincent de Paul Society, 1305 Damascus Road, Rockwall, TX 75087 (https://membership.faithdirect.net/enroll/tx400).
