Via City of Heath:

We love our annual community traditions, including the July 4 Parade and Patriotic Program in the Park. However, this is a unique and challenging time in our history, and a time for continued caution. As a result, the July parade and program will be canceled.

There’s no social distancing plan for a parade that has half the town in it, and half watching. So on July 4 between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., the City will bring the festivities to your neighborhood including old fashioned ice cream trucks loaded with the traditional free red, white and blue popsicles and all kinds of other treats for purchase.

The Drive By route for the ice cream trucks and approximate times are posted here.

A Mini Drive-By Parade

Heath DPS will lead the ice cream trucks with the sirens and lights ablaze, and other decorated vehicles circulating include City Councilmember families judging the first ever Heath Hometown Decorating Contest.

Then drench your home or business in red, white and blue and be sure to share your photos and tag the City of Heath. Judges will drive by as many homes/businesses as possible. 10 Winners will be announced by 4 p.m. on July 4 and receive a $50 gift card to a Heath restaurant.
