In a post on the official Facebook event page, event coordinator Jared Guynes announced that this year’s event will be postponed until August 8 due to coronavirus concerns.

“Due to the recent developments and concerns surrounding COVID-19, I have decided to postpone JENB5 to the end of the summer. The health and safety of my event attendees is of the upmost importance to me and I appreciate your understanding during this unprecedented time,” Guynes said in the post.

The new date for JENB5 will be Saturday, August 8th 2020 at AT&T Stadium, and the VIP Meet & Greet will also be postponed to Friday, August 7th at Texas Live.

According to Guynes, all special guests have committed to returning at the postponed date. All event features, obstacles, prizes, and sponsors have committed to the new date as well. The event will happen exactly as planned on August 8, 2020.

Those that already have tickets do not need to do anything. All existing tickets will work on the new date. If the new date presents a conflict for you, please email Jared at ([email protected]) and he will work to accommodate you.

“Obviously I wanted to avoid postponing the event in any way for your convenience, but as I have always said the safety of guests must come first and I hope you will be supportive of my decision to make this call,” Guynes said. “I have lost a lot of sleep grappling with what to do, but every partner I have spoken with has reassured me this is the correct call, and I believe in my heart it is.

Guynes continued saying “Many events are simply canceling all together for the year, but I am thankful we will still be able to have a battle in 2020 though several months behind schedule. I would like to personally thank the Dallas Cowboys organization for being overwhelmingly understanding, kind and accommodating to our event during this time, allowing me to move dates at no penalty.”

Guynes is currently the Guinness World Record Holder for “Largest Toy Pistol Fight” as of March 2016.

The event will take place on Saturday, August 8th, 2020 6pm-10pm at AT&T Stadium located at 1 AT&T Way, Arlington, TX 76011.

This will be the fifth consecutive year for the event.

Due to coronavirus concerns other large scale events have been cancelled and rescheduled. The NBA season has been suspended until further notice, the South by Southwest festival in Austin was canceled, as well as the Houston Livestock Rodeo, one of the largest in the world, all due to concerns with coronavirus.
