David Watson Obituary

David Watson, age 73, of Mesquite, TX, passed away on February 8, 2020. He was born on October 4, 1946, in Dallas, TX, to William Harrison Watson, Sr. and Leona Pearl (Ewer) Watson. He and his wife Michelle were married in 1973. He asked her sister to set them up on a date and the rest is history. David retired from the Texas Department of Transportation after 38 years of service. He loved fishing, hunting, tinkering, and cars. David was a craftsman. He enjoyed watching the sunrise and sunset while walking the beach looking for sand dollars. David had a weakness for sweets, pork skins, and Three Musketeers candy bars. Above all, David loved his family. His presence will be deeply missed.

David is survived by his loving wife: Michelle Watson of Mesquite, TX; son: Bryan Watson and wife Tiffany of Lone Oak, TX; daughter: Kellie Laraway and husband Jeff of Royse City, TX; sister: Laura Broome of Fate, TX; grandchildren: Tori Trowbridge of San Angelo, TX, Colten Laraway of Royse City, TX, Bree Laraway and husband Austin Jaminet of Royse City, TX, Kayla Laraway of Royse City, TX, Chad Watson of Mesquite, TX, Ashlynn Watson of Mabank, TX, Kalob Wicker of Lone Oak, TX; Jefferey Watson of Burleson, TX, Saphira Bollinger of Lone Oak, TX, Joshua Watson of Burleson, TX; great-grandchildren: Aiden, Addi, Kannon, Brooklyn, and Blayne; numerous nieces, nephews, friends; and his Caddo buddies. He was preceded in death by his brother: Billy Watson; and his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, February 20, 2020, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location. Graveside services will take place at 2:30 pm at DFW National Cemetery. A gathering of family and friends will take place Wednesday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
