Pet of the Week – January 27

Tera was listed as urgent in the Laredo shelter due to an “injured foot”. When she arrived in Dallas we took her for xrays and we found out that she had an old break in her humerus which was now not repairable and our only option was amputation.

However, she hadn’t been using that leg for so long, she adjusted to the amputation amazingly!

This 2 year old scruffy terrier mix who weighs 33 lbs. is so happy and full of spunk, you would never know she’s missing a leg. Tera is great with kids and prefers dogs closer to her size. She is not a fan of cats; she wants to chase them. She loves affection and cuddling and carries her stuffed toy around like a pacifier. She is a low shedder and appears to be potty trained. She may be considered special needs but we just consider her all around special 😊❤️
