Dottie Marie Lillard, age 100, a lifetime resident of Rockwall, Texas, joyously went to her heavenly home on September 14, 2019, to spend eternity with her Savior and be reunited with those who went before her. She was born on March 17, 1919, in Rockwall County to Henry Columbus and Lillie Mae (Smith) Jacobs.

Of eleven children, she was the last to survive. Dottie and her husband of 26 years owned the Mecca Café on the downtown square of Rockwall for 25 years. Her convictions were strong, and she loved her Lord. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Rockwall for 86 years. She enjoyed staying busy, working in her yard planting beautiful flowers and caring for her beloved pets. Dottie will be remembered as a loving wife, sister, and aunt.

Dottie is survived by her nieces, Carolann (Ridley) David, and Sue (Lowe) Nichols who were her primary caretakers, along with many other nieces and nephews, numerous great-nieces and nephews, along with a host of other loving relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband William David “Buddy” Lillard; brothers: Roy, Vernon, Vivian, James and Viecent Jacobs; and sisters, Ruth Lowe, Rose Ansley, Eva Jacobs, Esta Weathers, and Lillian Jacobs; and parents.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 23, 2019, at 4:00 PM, at First Baptist Church of Rockwall in the ML Jones Chapel. The family has asked that you consider making a donation to the First Baptist Church Lottie Moon Mission Fund, or the American Cancer Society.
