Marlin Delno Rinehart, age 80, and long-time resident of Rockwall, TX, passed away on August 4, 2020. He was born March 21, 1940, in Condit, OH to Charles Ocliff and Fern A. Rinehart. Marlin graduated from Centerburg High School class of 1958 in Centerburg, OH. He served in the U.S. Army, in Korea, from 1963-1965.
Marlin began his working career at Sears, in Dallas, from 1958-1992, where he worked as mainframe computer operator, methods analyst and a very gifted graphics designer. Marlin finished his career working in Dallas as a software test engineer for both Micrografx Corp., in Dallas until 1998, and finally with iGrafix, in Dallas, until 2007 when he retired. In all those years at Sears, God used Marlin’s gift of methods and graphics design to prepare him to finish his career strong by testing software. Marlin always said, God graciously prepared him from job to job throughout his career.
He was a member of Calvary Chapel in Garland, helping to found the church in 1997. Marlin was active in the church ministry all of his adult life. In 2004, he began conducting small weekly men’s Bible study and fellowship groups in his neighborhood.
Marlin loved to travel the world. He had visited Europe, Africa, Asia, South America, New Zealand, and Australia. Marlin enjoyed experiencing different cultures, people, and photography. His friends remember him as one who loved the Lord Jesus Christ, and as one who loved to cook and bake ethnic and international foods. He loved to collect cookbooks and entertain his guests. Marlin’s presence will be deeply missed.
Marlin is survived by his brothers: Charles E. Rinehart of West Linn, Oregon, and Claude D. Rinehart of Marion, OH, and their families. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert L. Rinehart of Forney, TX; and by his sister, Ellen M. Martin of Johnstown, OH and by his parents. And Marlin is survived by many nephews, and nieces, and many great and great-great nephews and nieces, who also all loved him and will miss him dearly.
