Amado G. Camarines, age 68 of Garland, TX, passed away August 5, 2020. He was born October 29, 1951, in the Philippines to Felomino and Consorcia (Gatela) Camarines. A resident of Garland since 1987, Amado attended St. Pius X Catholic Church. He was married on October 29, 1979, to Elsie Roasa and they shared 40 wonderful years. Amado received his highest degree of Doctor of Medicine from Remedios Trinidad Romualdez Medical Foundation College of Medicine and worked as a physician’s assistant. After retiring he worked as a medical technologist to keep him busy.
Amado was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and son. He was always there to help those in need. He would drive to Houston to be with his granddaughter for grandparents’ day, even for just a short trip. He was a lifelong learner who also enjoyed good food, music, sitting by the lake, and connecting with his family and friends near and far. He will be remembered by his kind heart, contagious smile, and great love for his granddaughters.
Amado is survived by his beloved wife: Elsie Camarines of Garland, TX; daughter: Eden Mae Rodriguez and husband Rico of Garland, TX; mother: Consorcia Camarines of the Philippines; granddaughters: Isla and Adeline; and six siblings: Rolando, Ildefonso, Lilia Dichosa, Jaimie, Gerardo, and Fernando. He was preceded in death by his father and sister Nilda.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Friday, August 14, 2020, at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rowlett Location with Fr. Leon Duesman officiating. The family will gather with family and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. In compliance with Dallas County regulations, social distancing will be in place and face masks required.
