Joan Carolyn (Rogers) McCollum

Joan Carolyn Rogers McCollum, age 73 of Rockwall, TX, passed away July 26, 2020. She was born July 17, 1947, in Sweetwater, TX, to Clawrence L. and Rachel D. Rogers. Joan was the valedictorian of her high school class and, after graduation, attended executive secretarial school. She was a member of Executive Women International and loved her job of 31 years as executive assistant to the CEO of Lafarge Corporation. Joan’s job entailed lots of travel and working with various CEOs and Boards of Directors, which she greatly enjoyed. She was fortunate to be able to spend six weeks studying French in Villefranche-Fur-Mer, France. Joan will be deeply missed by those who love her.

She is survived by her loving husband: Jack McCollum; daughters: Kristi Raney and Ginger Johnson; granddaughters: Hayden Raney and Blair Raney; and sister: Vera Fitzjarrell. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Private funeral services will be held at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
