Joyce Del Sumners

Joyce Del Sumners, age 88, of Rockwall, TX, passed away on July 24, 2020. She was born September 2, 1931, in Dallas, TX, to Clyde Richardson and Essie (Morgan) Richardson. Joyce was a member of First Baptist Church in Rockwall. She was also a member of several book clubs. Joyce was an amazing grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother. All of her grandkids affectionately called her “Granna JJ’. Her presence will be deeply missed by everyone who loved her.

Joyce is survived by her daughters: Charlotte Grindele, Donna Michaels, Dorothy Place, and Debbie Reese; sons: David Grindele, and Johnny Sumners; and sister: Mary Hunt and husband Robert. She was preceded in death by her husband: Eldon Sumners; brother: Vernon Richardson; grandchild: Randall Lewis; and her parents.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am on Tuesday, July 28, 2020, at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas, TX, with Rev. Jim Everidge to officiate.
