Kenneth Ray Ensley passed away at Methodist Hospital Richardson on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the age of 82. Ken is survived by his wife, Betty Paulk-Ensley of Sachse, TX; children Don Ensley and wife Cindy of Wylie, TX, Tim Ensley and wife Stephanie of Bella Vista, AR, Terry Ensley and wife Susan of Wylie, TX, and Chris Ensley and wife Crystal of Rowlett, TX; grandchildren Matt Ensley and wife Amy of Ozark, MO, Lynn Ensley of Portland, OR, Chris Hall and wife Sabrina of Anna, TX, Cassidy Ensley and fiancé Eli of Garland, TX, Samantha and Katie of Rowlett, TX, and Clay of Wylie, TX; and great-grandchildren Marcus and Abigail of Ozark, MO. Additionally, he is survived by three daughters in spirit of Lisa and husband Dan, Glenna and husband Greg, and Laura, and six step-grandchildren: Jesslyn, Kaleigh, Destiny, Faith, Chance, and Gracie.
Ken was born on November 30th, 1937, in Ft. Wayne, IN to Maxwell and Alice Ensley. After living in Ft Wayne, Cleveland, OH, and West Chester, PA; Ken and his family moved to Garland, TX where he worked for Weatherhead. After retiring from the Dana Corporation, he started his own business, K&N Sales, and continued to work in sales until he passed. Ken was an practicing Christian and was a member of First Lutheran Garland and then Orchard Hills Baptist Church amongst others. Ken was preceded in death by his parents, his older seven brothers and one sister, and his first wife of 50 years, Nancy Lou Ensley. Ken was Freemason for over 50 years. Anyone who knew Ken knew that he had a big heart and never met a stranger.
A private memorial service will be held at Rest Haven Rowlett Chapel on July 25th at 2:00 pm. A weblink will be provided and all are welcome to participate virtually. A public Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations are asked to be made in Ken’s name to the Rowlett Firefighters’ Association or the Scottish Rite Memorial Hospital.
