Peaceful march scheduled for June 13 through Rowlett

On Saturday, June 13 there will be a peaceful march through the City of Rowlett.

This march will take place between 5:00pm and 9:00pm and will start at Rowlett High School. This means both directions on President George Bush Highway (the service roads not the main lanes of the turnpike) will be shut down, and the east bound lanes of Lakeview Parkway (SH 66) between President George Bush Highway and Main Street/Kenwood. Drivers may want to avoid the area as it will be shut down to all vehicle traffic other than emergency vehicles to preserve the safety of all pedestrians from vehicle traffic.

The city is working with the organizers who are on a mission to make this a positive message for change and justice as they walk shoulder to shoulder into a unified future.
