Barbara Helen Lowe, age 98, of Rockwall, TX, passed away July 10, 2022. She was born August 10, 1923, in Yugoslavia, to Barbara (Pfeiffer) and Mathias Ringwald. In 1930, her family immigrated to Guelph Ontario, Canada, and then later moved to Kitchener. This is where she met her first husband Len Allen, who was a pilot in the Air force. Together they moved to San Antonio, TX, and lived in Texas ever since. After Len passed away, Barbara later married her dear friend Bill Lowe who also served in the Air force. Barbara was a person with many friends and acquaintances. She always spoke highly of them and was always busy visiting and helping them with whatever was needed. A true friend! She also did a lot of volunteer work in the community, especially with the police department in Rockwall. She received many awards and notifications for her dedicated work, highly recognized by them. Public speaking was something she enjoyed, with many speaking engagements with the Toast Masters group. A very busy lady she was, which probably added to her longevity! There were many visits to Canada, great gatherings with the whole family and many fond memories never to be forgotten. She was much loved and will be sadly missed by her Canadian and her Texas family! She was a devout Christian and spent much of her time involved in church activities. Barbara was a very private woman and somewhat reserved, but at the same time quite willing to speak her mind when needed. She was a thoughtful and caring person, always bringing gifts for us and goodies for the children. Barbara will always be in our hearts!
Barbara is survived by a niece and Godchild: Helen Beare (John), and their children, Kimberly Zimmerman (Dare), and daughters Taylor and Kenzi; Kelly Hassard (Paul) and daughters Jordan and Kate; Kristen Steiner (Rob) and daughters, Anderson, Kamryn and Peyton. A niece Sandra Rueffer (Peter) and daughters Leanne Thorburn (Rob) and children Billy and Daisy; Katherine Kroner (Andy) and children Maddy, Kaitlyn and Cooper. A nephew Matt Ringwald (Cheryl) and daughter Stephanie Jarmuth (Phil) and children Nolan, Tyler and Macy. Brother-in-law: Don Lowe (Betty); sister-in-law: Sue Lowe; nieces: Sue Lagomarsino (Fred), Cathy Rogers (Mike), Sherlyn Jones (Art), Donna Blakeley (Kevin), Deborah (Nick) LaBarera, and Kelly Nichols; nephews: Richard Lowe, Bill Lowe (Lucretia), James Nichols (Flor), George Nichols, Steve Williams, Scott Williams (Jill), Stan Williams, and Stewart Williams; long time friend: Gigi Ringwald; and a host of other relatives and friends. Barbara was preceded in death by her first husband: Len Allen; second husband: Bill Lowe; her parents: Barbara and Mathias Ringwald; and brothers: Stephen and Jack Ringwald.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday, July 18, 2022, at First United Methodist Church-Rockwall, TX. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 5:00pm to 7:00pm Sunday, July 17, 2022, at The Gathering at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall location.
