Scott Dewayne Burke, age 55, of Royse City, TX, passed away March 15, 2022. He was born May 27, 1966, in Wabash, IN, to Dewayne Burke and Nancy (Mendal) Burke.
Scott grew up in Wylie, TX, and graduated from Wylie High School in 1984. He served in the United States Marine Corps as a young man just as his father and grandfather had. He was an avid hunter, marksman, fisherman, scuba diver, mechanic, and classic car enthusiast. He was known for his ability to fix anything and his desire to always help others. He will be deeply missed.
Scott is survived by his children: Brittany Burke and husband Alex Ainsworth, and Amber Lewis and husband Mark; grandchildren: Tucker “Buddy” and Raegan “Poppy,” and Wyatt Burke and fiancé Kory Lee; mother: Nancy Burke; siblings: Michelle Hooper, Dana Jobe, Shawn Burke and Shane Burke; and a host of nieces, nephews and loving friends and family. He was preceded in death by his father: Dewayne Burke.
A celebration of Scott’s life will be held 1:00pm Friday, April 8, 2022, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location.
