James Weldon Clark, 78, of Royse City, TX, passed from this life on February 21, 2022. James was born to Sherley Weldon Clark and Mildred Irene (Coker) Clark, in Dallas, TX, on May 31, 1943.
Raised in Sherman, TX, he enjoyed helping on the family farm. James graduated from Sherman High School in 1961, and later from Southeastern State University. He served in the Texas Army National Guard from 1967-1971, and was a Master Mason, a member of the Scottish Right, and a Shriner. James worked at Methodist Hospital until his retirement in 2000. He met Sharon on a blind date in 1972 and they married six short months later, a union that lasted 48 ½ years. They eventually moved to Dallas and had their son, John. James enjoyed watching John grow and excel in the game of baseball. James spent his years of retirement enjoying his grandchildren, who lived just two doors down and visited quite frequently.
Survivors include his only son: John Weldon Clark and wife Tricia; granddaughters: Ryleigh Clark, Madison Clark and Taylor Clark; sister: Carolyn Sue Kirby; niece: Kim Schwartz and husband Cody; and great niece and nephew: Kimberlyn and Kirby Schwartz. James was preceded in death by the love of his life: Sharon Clark; and his parents: Sherley and Irene Clark.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Monday, February 28, 2022, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rockwall Location. Interment will follow at 2:45pm in Restland Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX. A gathering of friends and loved ones will be held Sunday evening at the funeral home from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
