Vance Cravens, age 59, and long-time resident of Royse City, TX, passed away on January 22, 2022. He was born January 19, 1963, in Angleton, TX, to Donald Cravens and Dee (Watson) Cravens. Vance attended Rockwall High School. He raised his family in Wills Point, TX, and later moved to Royse City. Vance worked in the engineering field since 1985. He started at Koegel Engineering at age 29, where he worked for 26 years and worked his way up to becoming a project manager. Vance later went to work for Halff Engineering. He was a member of the Chickasaw Nation. Vance was an avid hunter and fisherman. His grandkids called him “Peepaw” and he absolutely adored them. Vance loved his family, especially his grandkids. His presence will be deeply missed.
Vance is survived by his wife, the love of his life: Lisa Cravens of Royse City, TX; mother: Dee Hargett and husband Rick; sons: Taylor Cravens of Wills Point, TX, and Logan Cravens and wife Paula of Canton, TX; stepson: Zachary Huddin; stepdaughter: Lauren Huddin; grandchildren: Luke, Jack, and Beau Cravens; brothers: Kent, Darryl, and Lee Cravens; sister: Tracee Tomson; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father: Donald Cravens; and his grandparents.
A celebration of Vance’s life will be held 4:00pm Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location. He will be laid to rest at the family cemetery in Yarnaby, OK.
