Ruth Rash, age 99, and long-time resident of Rockwall, TX, passed away January 24, 2022. She was born March 25, 1922, in Athens, GA. In her early career, Ruth worked as an executive secretary for several oil companies. She later worked at T/A truck stop as a cashier and lastly was a door greeter for Wal-Mart until 95 years old! She was a people person and customers loved her. Everyone that loved Ruth stopped by after her retirement from Wal-Mart and volunteered to help her when she needed to go shopping and extra home care. Ruth had a heart for animals and loved animal rescues. She loved her family dearly. Her presence will be greatly missed.
Ruth is survived by her husband: Lloyd Jones of Rockwall, TX; son: Ronnie Blakeslee and wife Laura of Irvine, CA; granddaughter: Heather Rumert of Houston, TX; and great-granddaughter: Victoria Reumert and Niece Patricia Lee of Huston. She was preceded in death by her Daughter Victoria Smith, brother: Robert Lee; sister: Patricia Reumert; Nephew: Bobbie Reumert; and her parents Edward and Ann Lee.
Funeral services will be held 1:00pm Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Reflections at Rest Haven Funeral Home-Rockwall Location. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park. A gathering of family and friends will take place at the funeral home Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00pm.
