Jose Angel Hernandez, age 86 of Garland, TX, passed away December 24, 2021. He was born May 31, 1935, in San Luis Potosi, Mexico, to Prudencio and Mercedes Hernandez. Jose always put his family first and looked out for his children. He came from Mexico seeking better opportunities. He was married to Maria Conrada Alvarez for 61 years and preceded her in death by two days. A member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Jose truly believed in God and in Our Lady of Guadalupe. He was very hard working, very happy, loved to sing and enjoyed his tequila.
Jose is survived by children: Jose I. Hernandez and spouse Maria B., Prisca Arellano and spouse Maurilio, Rosalia Hernandez and spouse Zeferino, Raymundo Hernandez and spouse Victoria, Martin Hernandez and spouse Alma, Jacinta Hernandez, Martha Hernandez and spouse Javier, Prudencio Hernandez and spouse Ana L., Angel Hernandez and spouse Tracey; 32 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren; siblings: Priciliano Hernandez, Concepcion Hernandez, Delfina Hernandez, and Julia Hernandez. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Severo Hernandez.
Funeral mass will be held 11:00 am Monday, January 3, 2022, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Garland, followed by burial in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Rowlett. The family will gather with friends at Rest Haven Funeral Home Rowlett on Sunday from 12:00 to 8:00 pm with a Rosary at 4:00 pm.
