Herminia Sosa de Contreras (Nina), age 71 of Garland, TX, passed away October 17, 2021. She was born December 24, 1949, in Coahuila, Mexico to Tomas Sosa Sifuentes and Maria De Jesus Mendez. Herminia was a strong woman, a devoted daughter, a loving sister, and a protective mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was a God-fearing woman who loved her family and set an example for her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren that will lead them all their lives and generations to come. Herminia loved and trusted the Lord with all her heart and was a powerful prayer warrior, even during the most difficult of times. She taught her family to look after one another and to be good support systems for each other. She genuinely was one of a kind. Hermina loved nature, social gatherings, meeting new people, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. Herminia was preceded in death by her sister, Guadalupe Sosa, you would never see one without the other and in over seventy years they never spent a day apart. They truly were the best of friends and together they raised and molded each member of their small but strong family. Herminia was loved by many and left a mark on every person she met. Her personality was contagious, and she will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Herminia is survived by her children: Dagoberto Contreras, Dia Ruiz and husband Luis, Manuela Dominguez and husband Alejandro, Daniel Contreras; grandchildren Roxanne Halcomb and husband Trevor, Anthony Quinones, Alex Dominguez, Andrew Dominguez and Wife Genesis, Richard Contreras, Daniel Contreras, Giuliano Contreras and Anna Contreras; great grandchildren: Logan Halcomb, Maddox Quinones, Gemma Quinones, Richard Contreras Jr., and Keilani Dominguez; nephew: Eliazar Sosa. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson Isaac Ruiz, sister Guadalupe Sosa and brother Delfino Sosa.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 am Monday, October 25th, 2021 at Rest Haven Funeral Home Rowlett with Alejandro Dominguez officiating. Interment will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. The family will gather with friends for visitation before the service beginning at 8:30 am.

Herminia Sosa de Contreras (Nina), de 71 años, de Garland, TX pasó a la presencia del Señor Octubre 17,2021. Ella nació Diciembre 24,1949, en Coahuila, Mexico y sus padres fueron Tomas Sosa Sifuentes y Maria De Jesus Mendez. Herminia fue una mujer fuerte, una hija devota, una hermana amorosa, y una madre, abuela y bisabuela protectiva. Herminia era una mujer temerosa de Dios que amaba a su familia y es un ejemplo para sus hijos, nietos y bisnietos. Ella deja un legado de fe que ayudara a guiar a su familia durante toda sus vidas y las generaciones venideras. Herminia amaba y confiaba en el Señor con todo su corazón y era una poderosa guerrera de oración, incluso durante los momentos más difíciles. Ella le enseñó a su familia a cuidarse unos a otros y apoyarse en todo momento. Ella realmente era única en su clase. A Herminia le encantaba la naturaleza, las reuniones sociales, conocer gente nueva, viajar y pasar tiempo con su familia y amigos. Herminia fue precedida en la muerte por su hermana, Guadalupe Sosa, que fue su compañera y nunca se aparto de ella. Sin duda eran las mejores amigas y juntas criaron y moldearon a cada miembro de su pequeña y fuerte familia Fue amada por muchos y dejó una marca en cada persona que la conoció. Su personalidad era contagiosa y todos los que la conocieron y la amaron la extrañarán.
A Herminia le sobreviven sus hijos: Dagoberto Contreras, Dia Ruiz y su esposo Luis, Manuela Dominguez y su esposo Alejandro, Daniel Contreras; Nietos Roxanne Halcomb y su esposo Trevor, Anthony Quinones, Alex Dominguez, Andrew Dominguez y su esposa Genesis, Richard Contreras, Daniel Contreras, Giuliano Contreras y Anna Contreras; Bisnietos: Logan Halcomb, Maddox Quinones, Gemma Quinones, Richard Contreras Jr., y Keilani Dominguez; sobrino: Eliazar Sosa. Le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, nieto Isaac Ruiz, hermana Guadalupe Sosa y hermano Delfino Sosa.
Horario de el servicio funebre que se llevara acabo el dia Lunes 25 de Octubre de 2021 en Rest Haven Funeral Home Rowlett. A las 8:30 am La familia recibira a familiares y amigos quien les acompañaran. A las 10:30 am el servicio de celebracion de la vida de nuestra hermana Herminia Sosa de Contreras. Oficiando el servicio el Ministro Alejandro Dominguez. Siguiendo el sepelio en el cementerio Sacred Heart Cemetery.
