Mary Mildred Poole

Mary Mildred Poole, age 88, and 32-year resident of Royse City, TX, passed away on October 17, 2021. She was born to George Harold Dotson and Ortha Lee (Hobbs) Dotson on May 26, 1933, in Atlanta, TX. Mary was a true individual and self-thinker; she was feisty and straightforward, she felt there was no time to mince words. She was a “pull yourself up by the bootstraps and no time for self-pity” kind of person… to put it simply, she was a survivor. Throughout her life, she showed tremendous strength of character, resilience, and compassion. She was a true “rock” to her loved ones; you could depend on Mary if you needed her. She loved her family immensely and took pride in each one, yet she would hold you accountable regardless of how much it might hurt, she wanted to know that her family could survive anything and did her best to prepare us all. Mary’s departing has left a huge void; she was loved deeply and will be missed greatly.

Mary is survived by her daughters: Sandy Poole Doyle, Donna Poole Phillips and Elaina Poole Harley; grandchildren: Heath Doyle, Beau and Kim Doyle, Amanda and Adam Watkins, Jesse and Jie O’Brien, Victoria Hardin and Hillary Harley; great-grandchildren: Emma Doyle, Breana Doyle, Liv Doyle, Kinleigh Doyle, Kristin Sheaffer, Kathleen Sheaffer, James Sheaffer, Jaylyn O’Brien, Jesse O’Brien, Gaberielle “Gabe” Hardin, Anna Hardin and Payton Hardin; great great-grandchildren: Clayton Webster and Sawyer Webster; brother: Fred Dotson; sister: Glennette Lewis; and cousins: Tommy and Shirley Randolph. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Ray Poole; parents; and brothers and sisters.

Graveside services will be held 1:00pm Thursday, October 21, 2021, at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Rockwall, TX. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 6:00 to 8:00pm on Wednesday, October 20, 2021, at Rest Haven Funeral Home- Royse City, TX.
