Larry Rodriguez Jr., age 50 of Garland, TX, passed away August 29,2021. He was born August 12, 1971 in San Antonio, TX to Larry and Gloria (Hernandez) Rodriguez. He was deeply loved by his family. His dependability and big heart made him an incomparable husband, father, son, brother, and uncle. Always joking and making family and friends laugh, he was the life of any gathering, the light in a dark room. A cinephile, he was constantly quoting his favorite movies, most often the parts he found amusing. Larry loved music, listening to selections spanning from his time as a young teen all the way to current music in all different genres. He was a good dancer as well, occasionally showing off in front of his family when one of his favorite songs began to play. He enjoyed life and loved his family, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years: Denise Rodriguez; son: Marcus Jake Rodriguez; daughter: Marissa Darian Rodriguez; brother: Chris Rodriguez and wife Cindy; mother: Gloria H. Rodriguez; in-laws: Joe and Alice Vélez, Percell Milton III, Teri Dunson and husband Joe, Joseph Vélez and wife Debra, Priscilla Rodriguez and husband Cesar; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded by his father Larry Rodriguez Sr. and sister in-law Pearl Ann Milton.
The family will gather with friends at the funeral home Tuesday, September 7, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00pm. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at 10:00am at Rest Haven Funeral Home – Rowlett with Pastor Henry Roncancio officiating. Interment will follow in Rest Haven Memorial Park.
The Rodriguez family would like to let all family and friends know they will understand that you may not want or be able to attend given the rise in COVID cases. The Wednesday service will be available for live streaming for those that cannot attend. If you do plan to attend Tuesday and/or Wednesday, the Rodriguez family is REQUIRING THE USE OF MASKS AT ALL TIMES.
