LAVON, Texas (June 2026) — The Undaunted Warhorse Initiative is making an urgent appeal to the North Texas community to assist an honorably discharged Air Force veteran and his 16-year-old son who are facing the imminent threat of homelessness.
Following a difficult divorce and an unexpected job loss, the veteran and his son are in need of immediate temporary housing. The nonprofit organization is seeking the donation of, or a significant discount on, a travel trailer or RV that can provide a safe and dignified place for the family to live while they work to regain stability.
“After years of dedicated service to our country, no veteran should have to wonder where they will sleep at night,” said representatives of the Undaunted Warhorse Initiative. “This father has served his nation honorably, and now he needs his community to stand beside him during a difficult chapter.”
The organization is specifically seeking an RV or travel trailer that meets the following requirements:
- Functional air conditioning suitable for Texas summer temperatures
- Reliable electrical and plumbing systems
- Safe and secure living space
- Sound structural integrity
Community members, RV owners, dealerships, and businesses that may be able to assist are encouraged to contact the Undaunted Warhorse Initiative as soon as possible.
In addition to donations, the organization is asking residents to share the appeal throughout their personal and professional networks. Every share increases the chances of finding a solution and providing hope to a local veteran and his son.
