Rockwall, TX – December 19, 2025 – The City of Rowlett is proud to announce the reopening of Kids Kingdom on Saturday, December 20 at 10:00 a.m., marking the completion of Phase 2 of improvements to one of the city’s most beloved parks. A ribbon cutting ceremony will take place to officially welcome families back to the playground.
Phase 2 enhancements include the addition of artificial turf and expanded shade throughout the park, with special attention given to areas designed for younger children. Several major park facilities were also reconditioned as part of the project, improving safety, comfort, and overall functionality.
New features introduced in Phase 2 include a net climber with a bridge leading to the Rowlett Water Tower and a giant slide, new shaded swings, an interactive music play area with hands-on instruments, and upgraded slides, climbing nets, step pods, spinners, and play surfaces throughout the playground.
These improvements build on Phase 1, completed in June, which focused on refurbishing the main play structure. Together, both phases represent a significant investment in family-friendly amenities and quality of life in Rowlett.
Residents and visitors are invited to attend the ribbon cutting ceremony and explore the updated playground. The City also encourages the community to enjoy Kids Kingdom and the many parks and recreational amenities available throughout Rowlett.
